Workshop  on ‘SPIRITUALITY IN CORPORATE CULTURE

Summary Report

It was a memorable day in Bangalore's corporate history, when the corporate world came together to discuss the need of Spirituality in corporate culture. With this, the day is not far when Bangalore will have satisfied employees, reduced attrition and a better work life balance. Employees will be able to align their individual interest with the organizational goals. This was witnessed from a wide spectrum of 500 corporate audiences spreading from Retailing, IT & ITES, Manufacturing, Consulting, Medical, Pharmaceuticals, and even Defense & Academia. HR Managers and Senior Department heads realized how they can inculcate spirituality to develop their organization and remain motivated.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Rameshwar Thakur, H’ble Governor of Karnataka who made his first public appearance after assuming the current office. He added in his address that The Vision 2020 of India becoming a Knowledge super power can be achieved on the basis of values, ethics, principles and culture, which our Vedas and Upanishads has taught us. "I am closely associated with Gayatri Pariwar and Gayatri Mantra is an integral part of my daily prayers since I was 11yrs old" said the honorable Governor. "This has added immense value in me at all the stages of my life, right from my initial days and now when I am the Governor of the state. It is my values and belief system, which has enabled me to reach such heights, and is equally applicable to everyone’s life who is working in the corporate world" he added.

There was a panel discussion moderated by Dr Pranav Pandya ji who was joined by . Mr. G Ramnath, GM HR Ace Designers, Mr. Jagadish Bapat, Foot prints Management Consultants and Mr. Saraswat- DGM-HR, SIDBI Chennai to brainstorm on how to implement spirituality in corporate and they also answered the queries form curious & excited audience.

Workshop had many added attraction, there was a 10 minute demo on Yoga by 4 times national you champion Mr. Ramneesh, a graduate in Yoga Science from Dev Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya. He displayed some breath-taking asanas which are beyond the imagination for a common man. There was a book exhibition where literature written by AWGP founder, Pt Shriram Sharma Acharya ji. Who authored about 3000 books covering all aspects of life like scientific spirituality, health, art of living etc.

What Speakers Said?

Eminent Speakers from the society enlightened the esteemed gathering with their share of knowledge, wisdom & experience on the subject.

Dr. Pranav Pandya, Head of AWGP and Chancellor, Dev Sanskriti Vishwa Vidyalaya delivered the keynote address on ‘Excellence in Corporate World through Inculcation of Spirituality’. He outlined the true nature of Spirituality & it’s various dimensions. His talk was a total package that covered Spirituality (It’s Science, Traits, Practicality, Need etc), Challenges of Corporate World, Stress Management, Tools & Techniques to Awaken Self, etc. He also gave a brief presentation on magical effects of herbal healing and urged people to plan spaces at home to grow these true gifts of nature which has power to cure virtually every possible disease. Dr. Pranav Pandya is MBBS & gold medalist in MD. He is director of Brahmvarchas Research Institute and has done extensive research on the properties of herbs.

 

Dr. Tushar Guha, who is a pioneer of personality development and is first person in world to receive doctorate in Personality Development delivered talk on talk on ‘Inner Transformation for Social Transformation’ endorsing AWGP motto of ‘Hum Badlenge -Yug Badlega’. He made people understand that spirituality should follow the top bottom approach. He also advocated the need of creativity, uniqueness, and logical reasoning amongst the professionals. We should become more and more aware of what we are capable of and should challenge our potential to higher orbits.  His talk was a mix of knowledge, humor, practical examples that glued the audience.

 

Mr. Ammineedu, Former director Human Resources, Bharat Electronics Ltd, then shared his research work on the subject with facts & figures. He brought out his understanding on Spirituality from the Holy Geeta, and related Lord Krishna's leadership styles with Level 5 leaders spoken by the management guru Jim Collins

 

Dr M S Thimappa, Former VC, Bangalore University spoke on ‘Being Spiritual At Work’. He told how meditation can help people to come down to normalcy in the most stressed conditions. He also requested the corporate audiences to try being at ease in their thought process and learn how to create space zones around that will help them in their work place. "If I stop breathing now, some of the trees won’t get the CO2 released by me. We all are made up of Sprit and Matter" he mentioned to make people understand how we all are interconnected.

 

Dr. H R Nagendra’s, VC, VYASA, talked about ‘Avartan Dhyan’ and told how individuals can practice meditation and learn to motivate themselves and balance the work related stress and personal life to get peace of mind for corporate excellence
