PRAGYA SANDESH – 21st Century, Bright Future
(A weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch)
www.awgp.org
Objective of the Periodical: The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

SADVICHAR (Thoughts for Contemplation):

The Perfect Business

Man dies and leaves behind all his belongings, possessions, clothes and houses; only his glory is the one earning that stays alive for ages. One who sacrificed everything but earned good name and fame for himself did a great business.  Selling off useless scrap and buying a strong brick-and-cement house is intelligent trading. Great beings are those who refine their lives and elevate  themselves to glorious heights. Those who take birth, live to fill their stomachs and quench their sensual thirst, and then die like any other creature are very unfortunate indeed.

Those who do not worry about their future and don't look beyond the confines of selfishness are like corpses, even if they can be seen breathing, eating, drinking and moving around. Only foolish gather more and more of wealth and resources so that their beloved ones would enjoy them after they are gone. They spend all their time, talents and efforts in insane and at times unfair possession and its safety. How much wiser it would be if they had employed their resources prudently in the activities of progress and welfare of others. Then the seeds of their wealth would have got sown in a fertile land and had given peace and succour to countless beings in their shade.

Disposing away useful things and collecting rubbish and hazardous things is a clear sign of insanity. Anybody, howsoever learned, skillful and smart he might be, is unwise, if instead of augmenting the virtuous qualities he opts for vices and weaknesses.

UPAKHYAN (Anecdote):

A priest in a temple would sing his prayers at a regular time daily. While singing he would be completely overwhelmed with love and emotions towards God. But on returning home would behave with his wife and children very rudely.

Once his small child accompanied him to the temple. The priest began singing and praying, “O God, You love all, and shower Your compassion upon everyone.” He had hardly begun when his child spoke, “Father, what use is it to praise a God, in whose worship you spent so many years and still could not learn any love or compassion.”

The priest realized his mistake and began introspection and self-correction earnestly.

Conclusion: There is no use in singing the glory of God’s qualities unless we try to assimilate them into our personal lives also.

SADVAKYA (Thought of the week):

Do not worry about the harsh criticism of the world, listen to your inner voice and act accordingly.
