PRAGYA SANDESH – 21st Century, Bright Future
(A weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch)
www.awgp.org
Objective of the Periodical: The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

SADVICHAR (Thoughts for Contemplation):

Look Within for Peace

If one is looking for peace, he must follow the path of spirituality. One must learn to turn his extrovert sight inwardly. A bewildered being, deluded and tired of wandering in the hazy mist of external world, finds immense peace and light in the inner world.

When we understand the illusory nature of the gamut of things and activities in the world around, get introverted and ponder over our inner self, only then we realize that we had lost our way all these days; our cravings, materialistic needs and passions were driving our life and we were running behind the mirage of happiness. Now we know that our desires and ambitions can never be fulfilled; attempting to do so is like pouring fuel into fire. Thus, instead of running behind the shadow to catch it, we must turn our back to it. Having a glimpse of the inner treasure detaches us from the perishable pennies for which we had been wasting all our potential and time. Introvert search takes us near to our true being and shows the key to infinite joy and peace.

Once we know our real self, grasp the reality of the world and see the inner light, a nectar-spring of unprecedented peace erupts from within and extinguishes the flames of discontent, desperations and tensions forever. With the rise of the feeling of true fulfillment, there hardly remains any worldly need or desire; every thing in hand or gifted by Nature for survival suffices and every circumstance becomes a source of expanding joy.

–Akhand Jyoti, March 1941

UPAKHYAN (Anecdote):

A blind man used to seek alms for his living. He would make his ends meet with whatever little money he could get. A rich man once passed by. He was overcome with pity on seeing the wretched condition of the blind man. He kept a note of five rupees in his hands and moved on.

The blind man felt the note by his hand and thought that it was some piece of paper that someone gave him to make fun of him. Dejected he threw away the note on the ground. A good Samaritan picked up the note and gave it back to the beggar saying, “Take it, it is a five rupees note.” The blind man was happy now and he fulfilled his needs with the money.

Due to lack of foresight we too do not understand or appreciate the immense gifts and boons that the Supreme Soul has blessed us with. We keep on complaining we do not have anything, we have not been given anything, we lack resources and so on. If we stop grumbling about what we do not have, and begin to recognize the importance of what we have, we would realize that what we have been given is in fact nothing short of wonderful!

Conclusion: Recognizing and awakening our hidden talents and utilizing them for the benefit of humanity is the reason that we are bestowed with human life.
