PRAGYA SANDESH – 21st Century, Bright Future
(A weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch)
www.awgp.org
Objective of the Periodical: The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

SATSANKALP (Divine resolve 16):
There are 18 satsankalp. As per Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya they correspond to 18 chapters of GEETA. We learnt about the fifteenth in the last edition. Given below is the sixteenth of eighteen.

Rashtriya ekta evum samta ke prati nishthawan rahenge. Jaati, ling, bhasha, praant, sampraday aadi ke kaaran paraspar koi bhed-bhav na bartenge

Meaning: We shall remain committed to national unity & equality. We shall not make any distinctions on the basis of caste, gender, language, state & community.

Upakhyan (Anecdote):

Once upon a time a queen willed that after her death following lines be inscribed on her gravestone, “An enormous fortune is buried under this grave. A person who is really poor and helpless may dig up this grave & take it.” Thousands of poor & needy persons passed by but no one was so heartless to dig up the grave of a dead for wealth. One very old beggar lived near that grave for many years. He used to point to the passers by towards that inscription on the grave.

Ultimately, a person of insatiable hunger did arrive at the grave and got it dug up. He was none other than a mighty king who had just conquered the kingdom in which that grave was located. On digging up he found nothing inside except one stone on which was inscribed - “Ask yourself, are you really a human being?" When the disappointed king was returning from the grave, people saw that the old beggar was laughing hilariously and saying, “I had been waiting for many years; at last I could see the poorest of poor on this earth.”

Conclusion: No one can be poorer than a heartless person who is bereft of compassion and is always busy in search of material wealth.

SADVICHAR (Thought of the week):

Not riches but nobility of character & honesty are the true touchstones of greatness.
