(A weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch) www.awgp.org |
|
| Objective of the Periodical: | The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era. |

Upakhyan (Anecdote 1): Testing
the devotion of young Dhruva, Devarshi
Narad asked him, “Son, What would you do if God
does not get pleased with you even after your long and arduous penance?” Dhruv replied with a smile, “O great one, then I would
continue doing my penance to find out whether one life is enough to attain
God or isn’t.” Conclusion: Infinite patience is required to attain one’s goal.
Upakhyan (Anecdote 2): Wife of Socrates had a very cruel and harsh nature. She stopped her husband from doing welfare works and cursed all those who visited him. She thought that all he did was waste of time and energy. One day Socrates was involved in a religious discussion with some visitors. His wife in a fit of anger threw dirty water from the rooftop over the participants and started calling them names. The visitors felt very insulted. Socrates acted with wisdom and wit. He turned their anger into light humour. Smilingly he said, "Today the proverb which says that barking dogs seldom bite has been proved wrong- here barking and biting have both happened together." All the anger turned into laughter. Wet clothes were put up for drying and the symposium started again in a calm atmosphere. Because of his equanimity Socrates' married life passed peacefully. His wife's nature also changed gradually and later she lived with him as an ideal life companion.
Conclusion: To remain equipoised even in the face of grave provocation is the touchstone of farsightedness.
