PRAGYA SANDESH – 21st Century, Bright Future
(A weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch)
www.awgp.org
Objective of the Periodical: The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

SATSANKALP (Divine resolve):
There are 18 satsankalp. As per Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya they correspond to 18 chapters of GEETA. We learnt about the eighth in the last edition. Given below is the nineth of eighteen.

Aneeti se praapt safalta ki apeksha neeti par chalte hue asafalta ko shirodharya karenge

Meaning: We will prefer failure while adhering to basic moral principles to so-called success obtained through unfair and foul means.

Upakhyan (Anecdote):

After his death, Dharamaraj Yudhishthir was presented before the angel Chitragupta. Accounting was done of his accumulated virtues & sins. Once he had spoken a half-lie about the death of Ashwathama. For this he was granted  one day in hell, and for all his virtuous deeds the next one hundred years in heaven. He was given the option of choosing where he wanted to go first. Yudhishthir opted for hell.

When he reached hell, the entire atmosphere saw a welcome change: a cool breeze started to blow, the harsh behavior of guards and keepers suddenly softened, and the inmates felt a great relief. On next day when Dharamaraj started to leave, the hell dwellers began to weep. They wished how good it would be if Yudhishthir had stayed there for good. Dharmaraj enquired of Chitragupta about any possible way of his continuance in hell. The latter replied that it was possible only if he donated all his acquired virtues to the inhabitants of hell and took upon himself the whole burden of their sins. Yudhishthir did accordingly. The hell dwellers went to heaven. By his righteous conduct, Yudhishthir turned even the merciless guards and keepers of hell into friends and created a heaven like ambience in hell itself.

Conclusion: People with tender emotions are able to achieve whatever they want with their transforming influence.

SADVICHAR (Thought of the week):

The test of anybody's greatness is what he thinks and does for one who is lower than him.
