“WARM WISHES ON GANESH CHATURTHI”

Objective of the Periodical:

The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

 SATSANKALP (Divine resolve):
There are 18 satsankalp. As per Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya they correspond to 18 chapters of GEETA. We learnt about the second in the last edition. Given below is the fourth of eighteen.

Indriya Sanyam, Arth Sanyam aur Vichaar Sanyam ka satat abhyaas karenge

Meaning: We shall regularly practice to exercise self control on our Senses, Wealth & Thoughts to ensure their usage with wisdom.

 UPAKHYAN (Anecdote):
Son ! Take these two pieces of sweat meat. Eat the bigger piece yourself & give the smaller one to your friend”. “OK mother!” said the boy and went over to his friend & himself started eating the smaller one.

The mother was observing this through the window. She called the boy back & chided him saying “You naughty boy! I had told you to keep the bigger piece for yourself & give the smaller one to your friend. Why did you do the opposite”? The child replied innocently” “Mother, I feel greater joy in giving more & more to others and keeping as little as possible for myself”. The mother became somber. For a long time, she was engrossed in deep thought, reflecting on there generous nature of the child. The boy was later known as Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

Objective: If a person desires less for self and tries to give more to others, all kinds of strife will end and the blissful atmosphere of amity & affection will prevail everywhere.

Conclusion: “Self-less thinking and acts leads to fraternity and peace in the society”

SADVICHAR (Thought of the week):
The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of wind. The reputation of a noble person spreads in all directions.
