PRAGYA SANDESH – 21st Century, Bright Future
(A weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch)
www.awgp.org
Objective of the Periodical: The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

SATSANKALP (Divine resolve):
There are 18 satsankalp. As per Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya they correspond to 18 chapters of GEETA. We learnt about the second in the last edition. Given below is the third of eighteen.

Mann ko kuvicharon aur durbhavnaon se bachakar swadhyay evum satsang ki vyavastha rakhe rahenge

Meaning: We shall make necessary arrangements for study of good and inspiring literature, and stay in the company of wise and divine beings to guard ourselves against evil thoughts, anxieties and fear.

UPAKHYAN (Anecdote):
Ideas & imaginations are the tools by which men of science are able to see into the distant future. By dwelling in the realm of exalted imaginations man can create a bright future and a veritable paradise for himself. On the other hand, through improper thoughts he is also capable of creating hell within him & around.

In the second decade of 20th century, Robert Goddard(1882-1945), father of modern rocket propulsion had visualized rockets an expressed definite possibilities of interplanetary journeys in the future. At that time America’s leading newspaper ‘The New York Times’ had ridiculed Goddard & commented, “The proponent of this view appears less knowledgeable than even school kids. Whoever knows anything about the earth’s gravitational pull would not put forth such a preposterous idea”.

Within 50 years of this editorial comment, the world saw the surreal spectacle of a spaceship lifting off Cape Kennedy launching pad on its journey to the moon. ‘The New York Times’ had to admit its mistake and it published an apology to Goddard.

Objective: Novel imaginations which were pursued tenaciously have given shape and substance to the present body of science.

Conclusion: “Do not make fun of any new dream or idea”

SADVICHAR (Thought of the week):

An aimless person is like the pendulum which merely swings to & fro without any forward movement .
