PRAGYA SANDESH – 21st Century, Bright Future
(a weekly periodical by All World Gayatri Pariwar Youth Group, Bangalore Branch)
www.awgp.org

Objective of the Periodical:

The root causes of the ailing state of the world today are – the crisis of faith, people’s ignorance of the powers of the inner self, and the lack of righteous attitude. These have evaporated the oceans of joy from people’s life and polluted them with ever increasing insecurities, infirmities and complexities. Realizing the hidden power of thoughts is very important in the present era of intellectual evolution. This periodical will serve as a vehicle for thought transformation for the revival of Satyug - the divine era.

SATSANKALP (Divine resolve):
There are 18 satsankalps. As per gurudev, Vedmoorti, Taponishth - Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya they correspond to 18 chapters of GEETA. We learnt about first in last edition. Given below is second of eighteen.

“Shareer ko Bhagwan ka mandir samajhkar atma-sanyam aur niyamitata dwara aarogya ki raksha karenge

Meaning: We shall consider our body as pious temple of God. We shall practice self control & regularities to protect our health.

UPAKHYAN (Anecdote):
The monkeys of Kashi are considered very mischievous. This anecdote connected to them was very often recounted by Swami Vivekananda ji. He would tell “Once I was visiting a place in Kashi. The area on the way was infested with monkeys who were quite notorious for tormenting the passer-by. They behaved in the same way with me too as they presumably did not like my intrusion into their territory. With shrill & shreeks they descended upon me and started biting at my legs. It seemed impossible to get rid of them. I fled the place but alas! The more I ran, the more they would chase and bite me. Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice rang in my ears: “Do not run away, Confront!” I halted at my tracks, stood erect resolutely and uttered a severe scolding. The monkeys, taken aback, ran away.”

Objective:  Wisely fight with adversities.

Conclusion: “Life has it’s share of adversities and challenges. We will have to face them boldly & squarely”

SADVICHAR (Thought of the week):

He alone is a true warrior who maintains his integrity, courage and patience in adversity.

-- Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya
